What was the last great Final Fantasy Game?

I'm looking forward to final fantasy 16. I have a lot more excitement for it than the last one FF15. It got me to thinking, when was the last great final fantasy game.

Everybody is going to have a different opinion on this but for me it is definitely Final Fantasy 10. To this day I'm still shocked by how much some people really liked Final Fantasy 12.

I entered the Final Fantasy series starting with 7 and have played every single one ever since, with the exception of the multiplayer games. To me 7,8,9 and 10 have a sort of magic to them that has been lost in 12,13 and 15. 

For one I think the older games relied much less on graphics and combat. Final Fantasy always refreshed the combat system but most people never played those games for the combat. We played them to experience the story. 

For me Final Fantasy 10 was probably the pinnacle of the series in terms of combining the classic gameplay elements with fully voiced characters, more thrilling combat and updated graphics.
