The Last of Us Season 1 Episode 2 discussion

Episode 2 of the Last of us was nowhere near as sprawling as the first episode and much shorter. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I'm starting to come to the conclusion that the show is really going to crawl when Joel and Sarah aren't around a lot of humans.

I expected this show to be a slow burn but even when the infected are chasing Joel and Ellie it still feels kind of slow.

I love how they make all the characters bandage up often when they're hurt. Just like in the actual game. When they are crouching behind furniture I felt like they captured the tone of the game perfectly. The clickers for the most poart held a similar type of mystique to them. I always felt like they were a bit like velociraptors in jurassica park. Nowhere near as smart but incredibly tough ad due to the way they hunt the characters always have to think carefully about how they try to manuver around them. I would have preferred if Joel grabbed a loose bottle or can on the floor and threw it to distract the clickers.

I knew Tess had to go fairly soon but I thought she might last to at least episode 3. It seems like HBO is not planning to drag this series out.

Tess going out by delaying the infected seemed like an illformed idea. With all that ammo, they could have grabbed a few grenades and supplies and perhaps barricaded the door. A few grenades out of the door as they were running up would have done the trick.

Episode 2 was good but it didn't come close to the first episode. I'm looking forward to seeing how Joel and Ellie's journey evolves from here.
