Administrators Herbert Playz Posted August 24, 2022 Administrators Share Posted August 24, 2022 I just saw this movie on Netflix I thought it was pretty awesome. World war 2 movies have always appealed to me for one reason or another. This was pretty cool because its about a book club that was started inadvertently by neighbors that were looking for a way to pass the time and find some enjoyment doing the war. The story is told retroactively, from the period just after the war and occupation has ended on the small island of Guernsey. A writer, hears about the book club and wants to check it out, she stumbles upon a mystery that happened during the war and begins investigating. There are some really good scenes in this movie and its one of the few movies that can be watched by the entire family without any huge concerns. I've known about this movie for awhile but it took me forever to check it out. I wish I would have watched it sooner. If you like world war 2 based movies, mysteries, pretty scenery or even romance check this one out on Netflix! Spoilers may be in the comments below. Administrators Herbert Playz Posted August 24, 2022 Author Administrators Share Posted August 24, 2022 One of my favorite scenes is when the little kid gives the medal that Elizabeth gave him to be brave, to Dawsey when he has to go tell Elizabeth's daughter the bad news. That was a really good scene. I felt that one, well done by the writer.
