Administrators Herbert Posted May 1, 2021 Administrators Share Posted May 1, 2021 This was a great pick. A lot of people want you to draft based on need. This makes sense. But In the first round when you're picking from the best of the best, the truly elite, it always makes sense to pick the best talent available. Micah Parsons was the best defensive player in the draft and he's available at #12? That's an easy decision. Patrick Surtain and Jaycee Horn would have been outstanding picks but this is the big splashy impact pick. Those of us watching the games have known for a long time, the Cowboys need to do a better job of putting pressure on the ball. Now they can throw 6'3, 240 pound, 4.39 running, Micah Parsons in there and tell him to just go get it...every..single...down. Heck Micah Parsons is as fast as or faster, than all of our most talented offensive guys. This was a great pick. Anyone that doesn't think so, is just a Cowboys hater. Even Stephen A Smith came out and said the Cowboys had a great frist round. Now people are dissecting the rest of the Cowboys draft with many saying that its negative. All I can say is, its obvious they drafted on need so far for the rest of the draft. I like what I've read about the DT Osa Odighizuwa. He was the top ranked heavyweight wrestler in the nation in high school. And he finished his college football career with more tackles for loss than games played. I think that says a lot. I think it shows you he has the ability to be disruptive which is what the Cowboys defense has been missing for awhile. Disrupters. If these two guys, Micah Parsons and Osa Odighizuwa just carry over their impact status from college to the pros the Cowboys defense is going to see a definite improvement.
